A large and impressive 19th century Continental cast-silver Neo-Classical pitcher jug, possibly German Hanau, with cast figural nude lady handle resting on scrolled acanthus leaf, with grotesque mask spout, engraved foliate decoration with shell and acanthus Rococo decorated waist, maker's marks HSC, jug height 27cm, 65oz
No obvious damage or repair, inside rim below handle has a casting crack? which is extremely stable, jug is still very heavy gauge with only small areas of surface wear to high points, jug sits flat on surface, marks very slightly rubbed
