A fine 18th century walnut elbow chair in the manner of Giles Grendey, with relief carved urn-shaped back, eagle head carved arms, with needlework drop-in seat raised on shell carved cabriole legs with ball and claw feet, width of arms 70cm, height to front rail 41cm, overall height 101cm
The splat has a faint horizontal crack across the veneer, there is a Roman II impressed into the back seat rail, eagle heads are slightly worn, no sign of restoration or previous damage but seat blocks are probably a later replacement
