Netsuke: Water Buffalo, carved from Mammoth tusk ivory. Exquisitely carved from this ~15,000 year old material from the extinct mammoth. The underside with the two connecting cord holes (known as himotoshi) and showing the mammoth bark - the outer layer of a mammoth tusk. Signed by the carver.
