A Victorian snakeskin and silver-mounted travelling writing case, integral inkwell, pen holsters, blotter, document folder, compartments and original key, by G H James & Co, hallmarks London 1884, length 28cm
Very good original condition, snakeskin is almost perfect with just a few minor splits and abrasions on the corners, silver mounts are lightly surface scratched and hallmarks are rubbed, applied silver monogram CHI, lock mechanism working with original key, interior generally quite clean with a few small areas of wear and fraying on the edges, inkwell has a few very small chips and lid doesn't quite close, overall a very tidy case for its age.
