Taxidermy / Hunting: Royal Tiger hunt print, 1901. An original 1901 Illustrated London News print of a big game tiger hunt. With white card mount. Details at the bottom read - “The Visit of the Prince of Wales to India, 1876: The Prince’s Elephant charged by a Tiger in the Nepal Terai, February 21: Drawn by R. Caton Woodville: Although the tiger's spring took the sportsmen completely by surprise, the Prince kept perfectly cool and fired, killing the animal outright”. The tigers which were collected by the Prince (later King) were sent to England and prepared by Rowland Ward of London and were presented to various museums.
