A fine 19th century opal cameo stickpin, probably by Wilhelm Schmidt, unmarked gold settings, carved 3-dimensionally from a single piece of opal matrix, depicting the head of a romatic hero facing right, his helmet in precious opal, his profile and the reverse in carved opal matrix, stickpin head length 16mm, overall length 63mm, 1.9g.
