A good quality 19th century brass microscope, by A Ross of London, no. 260, brass lenses and accessories in original mahogany case with recessed brass handle, inscription on microscope "Presented to Mr William Keddie by Sabbath School Teachers of Glasgow for his exertions in that cause by members of the Philosophical Society of Society of Glasgow for his zealous pursuit of natural science and by other friends as a mark of private esteem 5th May 1849
