A large silver plated 2-handled soup tureen and cover, with cast foliate decoration on scrolled acanthus feet, with engraved cockerel crest and motto "Vigilans Et Audax", motto used by Union-Castle Mail Steamship Co Ltd, length including handles 40cm
Good overall condition, some plating is rubbing through on high points, obvious signs of use commensurate with age, engraved crest on body is slightly worn, lid does not fit flush and is slightly bent out of shape, no maker's marks
