Edward McKnight Kauffer (1890-1954), hand-coloured pochoir lithograph on paper, Arrival of the Doctor, from Elsie and The Child, 21cm x 15cm, mounted, framed and glazed. Printed in a limited edition of 750 by Curwen Press, Ed. 506/750, 1929. Oliver Simon of the Curwen Press later wrote that some of the illustrations for Elsie and The Child “were a combination of lithography and gouache stencilling. Part of the stencilling was applied by a sponge and the result was spectacular”
