£2,000
An Art Deco Sapphire and Diamond Plaque Ring,
circa 1920, designed as a geometric double-lobed plaque, claw set with two Old European cut diamonds, surrounded by tapered baguette cut sapphires and diamonds with single cut diamond tips, the diamonds totalling approximately 1.25 carats, unmarked mount tests as platinum, size N, 6.9g
The diamonds are relatively bright and lively, the principal diamonds have signs of bearding with tiny nicks all around the girdle, three of the smaller diamonds appear to have been replaced with modern round brilliant cut diamonds. The sapphires are well-matched. The mount has general surface wear commensurate with age and use. Overall in good condition.
