Possibly been broken/split along the top where the decoration is, as has been overpainted perhaps to help cover it up? General surface marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Lids to inks wells, one lid has minor abrasive edge. Glass ink wells in good condition, although discoloured in places. Ink wells also differ in size, so may not be original.
