LEIGH DYER (born 1959) - a spectacular handmade stainless steel wall mount, designed to hold a diver's helmet, featuring octopus tentacles, fish and seaweed, with integral light fitting, height approx 75cm, together with a rare Antique diver's helmet, by Roberto Galeazzi, circa 1930s/40s, copper and brass. Leigh Dyer is a Hastings based sculptural artist with many well-known works on public display, including the giant winkle in Hastings Old Town, giant chessmen on Hastings seafront, and the new rowing boat sculpture on Bexhill promenade.
Helmet is in good original condition, surface wear commensurate with age and use.
Stand has two section of seaweed loose and would benefit from re-welding, back plate is attached and holding but another section could benefit from re-weld.
