A Victorian microscope slide collectors chest, of eight drawers, stained wood, containing an extensive collection of slides relating to Entomology and the study of insects, curated by local botanist and entomologist George West, subjects including the head of a moth, head of a silk worm moth, leg of a beetle, butterfly wing, pert of the larger tracheae of the house fly, as well as a large quantity of full bodied insects, various slides makers including Smith, Beck & Beck, a total of 268 slides, case size 37cm x 19.5cm x 27cm.
