An Antique Victorian Sapphire and Diamond Shamrock Brooch,
late 19th century, the three leaves set with round cut sapphires, surrounded by Old European cut diamonds with central claw-set old cut diamond, the diamonds totalling approximately 1.75 carats, unmarked mount tests as silver topped 14ct gold, 28.9mm, 8.8g
The sapphires are a well-matched deep vivid blue with some straight colour zoning visible from certain angles. The diamonds are very bright and lively. The mount has hardly any wear and also has openings on both sides for bracelet/necklace clasps (no longer present). Overall in very good condition.
