A Georgian 18ct gold garnet and black enamel mourning ring, set with oval cabochon garnet with foil back within a black enamel border, engraved foliate shoulders and closed back settings, hallmarks London 1821, engraved "AH Aug 7th 1898" and "MH Dec 8th 1904", setting height 10.8mm, size L, 3.8g

Some of the enamel work seems to have been crudely retouched (mostly on the shoulders) with some edge chips also present, garnet has light surface abrasions, high points on shoulders are slightly worn, settings lightly abraded all over with wear on the back of the shank which is very slightly bent out of shape, hallmarks slightly rubbed, stamped 18.
