Thomas Bewick (1753-1828), wood engraving on paper, The Lesser Redpole, 6cm x 7.5cm, mounted, glazed and framed. Printed directly from the boxwood block engraved
in 1797 by Bewick, the father of English wood-engraving. It was hand printed by Iain Bain for Merivale Editions in 1982, using an Albion hand press made in 1836. The
paper is 145 gsm Zerkall mould-made dampened before printing
