A large Victorian garnet and split pearl mourning brooch, centrally rub-over set with large foil-back oval cabochon garnet surrounded by graduated rows of split pearls and black Vauxhall glass, closed-back settings engraved with dedication "Estelle Marie Benwell, Obit 11th December 1858. GW Benwell, died 2nd August 1876", unmarked mount tests as 14ct gold, 41.4mm, 22.4g

No damage, 2 glass stones have been replaced with sapphires, brooch fitting has been re-soldered, a few minor dents on backing, fitting working, unmarked
