The memorial to Thomas Magnus
(1480-1550) at Sessay. In 1504 he was Archdeacon of the East Riding & sacristan of the Chapel of Our Lady in York. He came to the attention of Henry VIll who made him Royal Chaplain & served the King mainly in Scotland.
