SIBYL DUNLOP - A Sapphire and Moonstone Brooch,
designed in the Arts & Crafts style, of shaped oval form and millegrain set with mixed cut sapphires, interspaced with round and oval cabochon moonstones, mounted in gold topped silver, signed S. Dunlop, full UK hallmarks for London 1969 with maker's mark SD, 35.2mm, 15.6g, in original box stamped Sibyl Dunlop Ltd Jewellers & Silversmiths, 69 Kensington Church St, London, W8.
The sapphires are well-matched, the principal sapphire has a slight purplish-blue colour with a few small internal inclusions. The moonstones have a good adularescence. The mount hardly has any wear. Overall in very good condition.
