Frank Holl (1845 - 1888), original sketch for Order To The Front, oil on canvas, 33cm x 30cm, framed. This painting is the original study for the two central characters in the finished masterpiece completed in 1880, which is now exhibited in the Walsall Art Gallery, it has remained in the artist's family until the present day.
Untouched original condition, canvas is very slightly dirty, no patches or repairs and paint all stable, original gilt-gesso frame also in good condition and glazed, provenance: directly from the artist's family
