A George III silver snuffbox, rectangular form with allover ribbed decoration and gilt interior, by Benjamin Smith, hallmarks London 1801, 7.5cm x 4.5cm, 2.4oz
General wear and abrasions all over consistent with age and use, 1 small split and dent on top front right corner, there have been a couple of solder patch repairs on bottom rear edge which are visible inside and out, a few light dents to the base, gilding generally still bright but inside base has extensive tarnishing, hinge works perfectly and lid shuts flush with body, hallmarks very slightly rubbed but still legible
