An early 20th century Nansen pattern wooden polar sledge, probably military, similar to the British Antartic Terra Nova 1910-1913 expedition sledge.
A number of repairs are evident and although largely complete the sledge is in poor condition. Some parts possibly replaced (top platform) and new metal braces added.
