An Art Deco emerald and diamond plaque brooch, circa 1920, of shaped oval pierced form, centrally millegrain set with a 0.90ct round transitional-cut diamond (6.20mm x 3.76mm), surrounded by 4 rectangular step-cut emeralds, total emerald content approx 1.50ct, the openwork floral mount further grain set with old-cut diamonds, total diamond content approx 2.90ct, unmarked mount tests as 14ct gold and platinum, 45.9mm, 12.7g
No damage, all stones present, emeralds are a vivid green with typical internal inclusions and several small edge nicks, diamonds bright and lively, particularly the principal diamond which has no obvious internal inclusions visible through a loupe, a few of the surrounding diamonds are tinted yellow and several have small surface chips, hardly any wear to mount, fitting working, unmarked but tests as 14ct and platinum
