ENGLAND FOOTBALL INTEREST - a 1908 England Football Cap worn by George Wall (1885 - 1962), and an original photograph of George Wall signed in ink with date October 12th 1911. George Wall played for Barnsley 1903 - 1906, then transferred to Manchester United from 1906 - 1915 helping them win the 1908 and 1911 League titles and 1909 FA Cup, scoring 100 goals in 319 appearances. He then served in the First World War in the Black Watch Regiment and then after the War was sold to Oldham Athletic for £200, then to Hamilton Academical and later Rochdale, retiring in 1927

Velvet cap is very faded with several dirt marks and what appear to be pen marks but no fabric tears, embroidery is in tact, lining is good with G Wall written in ink inside the lining, the photograph is in good condition but the cardboard surround is very torn and creased and foxed, damage to the surround doesn't touch the photograph, ink signature is clear
