ROLEX - a stainless steel Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master 'Pepsi' automatic calendar bracelet watch, ref. 1675, circa 1969, matt black dial with luminous dot and baton hour markers, outer minute divisions, cyclops date aperture, polished luminous Mercedes hands, sweep centre seconds hand and further red arrow dual time zone hand, with blue and red 'Pepsi' bezel insert, with stainless steel Rolex 7836 Oyster links and 380 end links, 26 jewel movement with calibre 1570, serial no. 2910627, date coded inside caseback II.70, case width 40mm, working order. Notes: the Rolex GMT was launched in 1954 after the Transatlantic Airways Company asked Rolex to produce a watch useful for their pilots. It quickly gained favour among the Pan-Am executives and the business jet set community as a whole. The reference 1675 began production in 1960
Movement – currently working
Dial - very clean
Glass - only extremely minor surface marks around edge
Hands - lumed filament slightly stained and polished hands have light surface pitting all over
Case - bezel insert colours slightly faded, light surface marks to sides and high points of case
Crown – signed with logo, screw-down working, hands adjust smoothly and date window advances correctly
Bracelet - associated Rolex steel bracelet, general wear to high points with surface marks and slight stretching to links, clasp working, wrist size approx 18cm
Notes – no box or papers but has remained in the same family since its original purchase
